Ragged Rainbow When art glass like this is made into molten sheets, the glass along the edge of the sheet is wavy, or rippled, but not straight. This edge piece is prized by glass artists because it adds interest to the design as well as a definite hand-made quality to the piece. This little dish, four inches square, was slumped into a mold of my own design which showcases the rolled edge that gives the piece its name. The other glorious thing about this opaque art glass is that its surface is iridescent like the surface of an oil slick, with an ever-changing interplay of olive green, deep blue, and royal purple.
